While we know that architecture is an important part of a Charlotte Mason Education, there is a fluidness to the study.

We do what is possible to introduce children to Architecture; and we practise clay- modelling and the various artistic handicrafts, but there is nothing unusual in our work in these directions.
— Charlotte Mason (Vol. 6, p. 217)

[Architecture] “is an entrancing subject of study. This is a real introduction to real history. The portraits (pictures, illustrations) are an especially valuable feature of the work” (Vol. 1: p. 291)

For this particular study, we are using architecture as a history and art form. This is most appropriate for years 2-7 (ages 7-14)

This method of study is meant to fit into your homeschool day as a loop subject to be completed once a week in 10-20 minutes. You may also wish to add in books about the buildings or time period as you see fit.
